I AM art series

The new "I AM" art series by Ode to the Forgotten is designed to speak truth into people's lives about who they truly are and who the ultimate I AM (God) has made them to be. These works will eventually find their permanent homes in homeless shelters and anywhere else they are welcome, reminding people that they are loved and valued.

When work from the I AM... series is displayed, everyone observing the art gets to choose a small hand mirror that says "I AM... loved", "I AM... valued", "I AM... strong", etc. (List of I AM... words is at the bottom of the page.) We challenge them (and you:) to choose a mirror with a word that they maybe have trouble believing, so that, every time they look in their mirror, they are reminded that they ARE "loved, valued, strong, beautiful, etc.", despite what they may be feeling at the moment.

Do you have a piece of art or writing that you want to add to the "I AM" series? We'd love to use it and share it with others! If you want to make something for the series, but don't know what yet, here are some things to think about:

- does it positively reflect the truth about who we are created to be? (loved, valued, hopeful, unique, talented, etc.) and who The I AM has designed us to be?

- If you create artwork that has a deeper personal meaning to you that you want to explain, we'd love to have a written story/explanation/testimony to go with it so everyone can experience the work the way you see it!

- we love to hear true stories about people finding who they are created to be. If you are writing, don't be afraid to get personal. We love to hear the truth and to hear true stories from real people. You were created uniquely to be who you are, not somebody else:)

If you need any more information, guidance, or have a question, feel free to email us at odetotheforgotten@yahoo.com

SUBMISSIONS to the I AM... Art Series

This painting was done by a 12 year old boy who decided that he was going to be how God has created him to be. No matter what. He plans on doing a series of paintings with this same phrase, but with no two paintings alike, because he wants to show the individuality of each and every person as God has created them.
